Sitzmedia: "Benny and Joon"

Last night we watched “Benny and Joon.” I was sort of pessimistic because I thought that I had hated it. But I realized that I’d not even seen it, and that I had gotten it confused with “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?” That movie sucked, and I think it’s the reason I don’t like Leonardo DiCaprio, and why I was very hesitant vis-a-vis Johnny Depp for many years.

“Benny and Joon” was good, though.

  1. Sitz,

I hate to do this HERE, in the comment section of a blog…

But–are you checking your email? If not, you need to…

I might as well say something about Benny and Joon while I’m here… Hm… I’ve never seen it. I think it’s too “90’s” for my tastes, maybe. However, I do have to disagree with you about What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. I thought it was good…

  2. Deuce,
Gilbert Grape? Really? But what was good about it?
Yes, I’m reading my email, and I’ve made a copy of it to reply to when I get home and am not paying by the minute for internet time. Sorry I’m slow, but them’s the blues when you’ve not got any internet at home…
Quick answer to your email: Yes. Visit. Now.
Abrazos to you and Sammyantha, Sitzman

  3. And you’re right about B&J being pretty “90’s.” Two days later, and I still have that damn “I would walk 500 miles” song in my head!

  4. If that song is in that movie I refuse to see it…

P.S. – Die Toten Hosen is playing on my iTunes…

  5. Well then, I guess you won’t be seeing that movie soon. That song is in both the opening and closing credits, as well as my fucking head now, since we’re talking about it again.
    Lousy Australians.
Good work with Die Toten Hosen, though! Which songs of theirs are you listening to? I’ll have to check out my playlist and give you a few recommendations.
And are you liking iTunes? Like Sam said, it’s not that bad.

  6. I actually have only seen What’s Eating Gilbert Grape once and it was a while ago…I remember thinking it was alright, but I guess I’ll have to see it again to find out for sure.

Actually, the Die Toten Hosen was on random and the song was good. That’s all I know… man, my information giving sucks.

iTunes sucks ass. It’s still a tough transition… many cuss words are said when I’m using iTunes for some project. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it…

  7. Deuce,
For Die Toten Hosen, I recommend starting with “Mensch” or “Bonnie und Clyde,” if you don’t mind the German. I have to say, though, that for their English songs, I actually like “Long, Long Way to Liverpool” and “Pushed Again.” Basically, you can’t go too wrong with the first disc of “Reich und Sexy Vol. 2” (and not just because the album artwork has tons of boobies…and there we also see an advantage of iTunes with its “get album artwork” search).
Tell me what you think about the ol’ “dead pants.”
Sorry you don’t like the iTunes, though. I guess I have the same issues with Windows Media Player.
